Hahaha, awesome details here! The feathers must have taken quite a while, they came out wonderful. The piercings and headband are my favorite bits, but the face paint makes me want to do something similar to myself.
This is crazy dude! I love the old tiki tribal type stuff. The bones through the chin give the best tribe feeling. Very nicely done... but the top teeth look slightly odd.. as if he's missing a top lip Besides that it's awesome
this is a very grotesque piece, I was freaked out by the teeth and the bones in the skin and the pendant, the necklace needs work and it looks like his head is dislocated from his neck it turns to much i mean. the scripture on the earring is crisp which brings out the complexity of the piece, but i'm not quite sure what the red swirly thing is, a snake? I believe he would look scarier if he had a forehead, if he had veins popping out of his neck and other areas that have veins and if the background looked like the cover of sepultura's roorback, red blooches with stray black lines around the swirl.
overall i give this a 7/10
What a curious piece! The coloration makes it seem very corporate, like a poster image or album cover, but the subject and texturization is on-par with something by Crumb or E. Elias Merhige... It's difficult to pin-point this as mainstream or underground, but it is entirely successful in what I assume it set out to do. Overstated, slightly grotesque, and the pallette swirl doesn't come off digital at all--In fact, the whole portrait could pass for acryllic work to the untrained eye.
